Often strong and high-paid PR also fails
But Maggi was reborn

Every business is vulnerable to risk, be it selling flowers, fruits, vegetables or anything that it industrial.

Five years ago, Nestle lost Rs 2000 crore business of Maggi Noodles after a food inspector of Food Safety and Drug Administration, Uttar Pradesh, Sanjay Singh found 1000 times more  monosodium glutamate (MSG) in the noodles at a Gorakhpur laboratory than what Nestle claimed.

Large institutions often neglect small media reports. They do not respond to small media calls unless they are hit hard by scoops. Nestle neglected one such report when newspaper reported the finding of overwhelming MSG in its noodles. Nestle management kept silent for almost a year while the government investigation and media reports went on. The hired PR couldn’t control the spontaneous flow of news against Maggi Finally within three months by September 2015, the Nestle team retook around 38,000 tonnes of noodles from retail stores. Then they crushed the stock to burn in incinerators of various cement plants. Now the Maggi is back and children restarted to eat.
